On August 28, 2024, H.E. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, visited CCB’s Singapore office and attended the Award Ceremony of the 2024 CCB Cup "Singapore in My Eyes" Contest of Photography , Calligraphy and Painting. Minister-Counselor Zong Changqing, Counselor Qin Wen and others from the Chinese Embassy accompanied the Ambassador on the visit.
Sun Nianbei, General Manager of CCB Singapore, gave an introduction to the Ambassador on CCB Singapore’s business achievements and growth strategy. The Ambassador commented that China Construction Bank Singapore Branch, as an important window for the China-Singapore financial cooperation, has made positive contributions to facilitating China-Singapore trade and investment exchanges and serving Chinese companies. He hoped CCB Singapore would continue to leverage its advantages and actively serve the China-Singapore financial cooperation.
From July to August 2024, CCB hosted a contest of photography, calligraphy and painting among major Chinese companies in Singapore, with a theme of “Singapore in My Eyes”. The award ceremony was held on the same day at CCB Singapore’s Fintech Exhibition Hall. More than 60 people, including representatives from Singapore business associations and Chinese companies, and winners of the contest attended the event.
The Ambassador commented that the works from the contest not only showed the wonderful observations and experience of Chinese-enterprise employees in Singapore, but also reflected the friendly cooperation and friendship between China and Singapore. The Ambassador congratulated the winners and encouraged Chinese professionals in Singapore to continue their efforts and create more meaningful art pieces.
Sun Nianbei, who is also standing vice-president and chairwoman of the Cultural, Sports and Social Activities Committee of China Enterprises Association (Singapore), commented, “As an important form of engagement activities among China companies in Singapore, art activities encourage people to actively explore the beauty of Singapore and record the beauty of life. The event reflected CCB’s support for cultural exchanges between China and Singapore, and it was an expansion and extension of China Construction Bank’s CSR practice as Chinese professionals enriched the local art scene with their artworks.”
