China Construction Bank Singapore Branch holds tree planting event in contribution to Singapore’s OneMillionTrees Movement
Published time: 2022-09-19

CCB Singapore Branch and the National Parks Board of Singapore jointly held a tree planting event at Tampines Avenue One on September 16, 2022. 55 people, including CCB Singapore’s management and employees, and customer representatives participated in the event and planted 50 young trees.

The OneMillionTrees movement was launched in 2020 by the National Parks Board of Singapore. As a key pillar of Singapore Green Plan 2030, it calls for a nationwide effort to plant a million trees across Singapore over 10 years, including streetscapes, gardens, parks and park connectors, nature reserves and nature parks. These efforts are expected to improve Singapore’s urban environment and enhance its resilience towards climate change, ultimately transforming Singapore into a City in Nature. So far, hundreds of individuals and organisations have pledged to participate in the movement, and nearly 400,000 trees have been planted across the island.

CCB Group has been a firm advocate of ecological conservation. From promoting green finance with the issuance of a variety of green loans and green bonds, to direct investment in nature conservation in and out of China, CCB has made increased effort in expanding its green footprint.

Ms. Sun Nianbei, General Manager of CCB Singapore Branch, remarked at the event, "China Construction Bank has deeply integrated itself into Singapore’s local community, economy and culture over the past 24 years. The trees we planted today reflect CCB's support to the Singapore government’s OneMillionTrees movement and our commitment to giving back to society. These trees carry our best wishes for our clients to grow together with CCB. Singapore Branch will continue to implement CCB Group’s green philosophy and strategy, and leveraging CCB Group’s extensive resources and network, contribute to the Singapore Green Plan 2030 together with our clients both in Singapore and China.”
